Re: Who would YOU take to the World Cup?
Not because of Australia Svender you div....plus you didn't watch that team for years like you say you did with the cricket, just three games they had in '74....try another more plausible reason you don't support the country of your birth.....

Svender, what bit of your last paragraph did you think was funny? It was fucking cringeworthy just like your excuses for not supporting your country of birth and where you have lived most of your life.

Turns out Jonah had Scottish ancestry too….is this why you are so bitter about everything English?

You are properly sad, now we know your sad excuse…..

Re: Who would YOU take to the World Cup?
If it was a joke, sorry I obviously did not get it.

If we are talking like the 1930 World Cup, where they got to the semi-finals, about half were British, especially Scottish born.

But Canada's ties to the UK, did not include interest in football.
Much to my frustration. Most of our players are 1st or second generation immigrants from poorer countries.

My point was before the States were regular qualifiers for World Cups - 1990 onwards their national side would largely have been a hotch potch of British ex-pats including the odd Canadian who might have been a good ice hockey keeper.

On the seriousness scale, it was meant to be a comment leaning more towards the humorous end of the spectrum.

?

There were 4 in the entire history. Not sure who you are taking about. Mark Chung had the most - 24 - caps but almost all in friendlies, not even in our version of the Euros.

The point was the States have been to 10 World Cups, Canadian born players have not been a part of any of them.

I don't think he'll play, but who would you pick as DM (presumably backup to Dec) ahead of him? And while he hasn't played, he is now fit - not ideal, but if he's not going to play it hopefully won't matter.

"The Canadian-born States players I can think of never made any major tournaments"

Yes...my point exactement!

Re: Who would YOU take to the World Cup?
Pleased to see Maddison is in, he deserves it. Bowen didn't deserve it. Might give him a kick to get firing again. Got some options going forward but defensively these last few years have been the weakest in England's history. If you are relying on Maguire and Coady you aren't going to go far.

Re: Who would YOU take to the World Cup?
Philips from City has played 14 minutes of premiership football this season, perfect for waistcoat to start him in the first game. If waistcoat says once in an interview about players who are fit and playing regularly being picked then he will look a right numpty.

Re: Who would YOU take to the World Cup?
I wonder who the whinging pom Svender followed in Australian football for it to be wrong to support his own country?

That would be the 1974 Socceroos.
Can remember my Dad waking my brother & I up in the middle of the night to watch Australia draw 0-0 with Chile in a rain storm

Sven (for it is I) -'That was great Dad , can I get up and watch the next England game?
Sven's Dad (SCOTTISH) - Nae laddie, the dismal BAMPOTS fucked it up so that Side of Ham cunt is at home crying his eyes out
Sven - ha ha ha. What a massive twat he is

Southgate on McGuire

“ He’s one of our best centre backs “

And therein lies probably our biggest problem. Him and TAA in our back 4 is a recipe for disaster

Sorry for Bowen? What the fuck for, he’s been pathetic since he got a cap

Its hardly a case of him scoring goals and in good form getting bombed for someone shit.

Re: Who would YOU take to the World Cup?
They should take David Lammy, Diane Abbott, Sam Smith, Eddie Izzard and Eni Aluko.

Forget the football, who gives a fuck about that, we need to focus on politics.
